"AcroYoga blends the wisdom of yoga, the dynamic power of acrobatics and the loving kindness of healing arts. These three lineages form the foundation of practice that cultivates trust, playfullness and community." - AcroYoga.org
There aren't many guarantees in life but, if you have a go at AcroYoga, I can guarantee that you'll laugh heartily and achieve feats of strength of which you never thought your body was capable!
Here's where you get all the necessary guidance and information...
I teach weekly classes of AcroYoga in Leamington Spa on Saturday afternoons at Stonemonkey Yoga Studio and Cafe.
4-5pm is "All Levels" (suitable for complete beginners with added options for the more experienced).
5-6pm is "Intermediates".
The intention is for newbies and Acromonkeys who are working on their foundations to attend just the first class. Intermediate level AcroYogis attend the first class to calibrate and warm up and then continue on to the second installment where we'll raise the skill level and work more tricky transitions, flows and washing machines.
The price is £10 for the "All Levels" class and £15 to attend both.
Booking is essential in order to attend the classes. Check out the ”AcroYoga Leamington Spa” Facebook page using the link at the bottom of this page. Here you’ll find weekly event listings with all the information for booking classes. Alternatively, get in touch with me using the “Contact” page of this website.
Acro Jams are gatherings of like-minded, light-hearted folks who meet up and play! We get the opportunity to practice anything we have worked on in class, share things we've seen or learnt elsewhere, work on trio tricks or moves that require more players...all sorts! It's a couple of hours of fun and hi-jinks and then, if you want to replace some of those calories you've just burnt off, we head off for coffee and cake afterwards...It's a simple format but it works!
Acro Jams take place weekly on a Sunday afternoon in Leamington Spa at Stonemonkey Yoga Studio. We meet from 1.30 - 3.30pm and we just ask everyone to contribute towards the studio rent (usually £5 each).
Please note, there is no teaching/formal instruction at the Jams, just skill sharing. In order for everyone to get the most out of the Jam experience, I recommend attending some classes first...it helps to have some Acro vocabulary and an understanding of basic principles.
All AcroYoga public offerings, including Workshops and Masterclasses will be posted on the "Latest news and updates" page of this website. Alternatively, to have the information brought to you, subscribe to the mailing list at the bottom of the "Home" page.
If you'd like me to come and teach an AcroYoga workshop in your area, get in touch using the details on the "Contact" page.
During the Summer months, if the weather is fine, we'll be jamming outside on the Green diagonally opposite Stonemonkey (near Clarendon Square).
We also have a slackline, some juggling balls and occasional access to a Unicycle so, if you've ever dreamed of running away to the Circus, you can have a trial run here first!
